Just found that the "Yesterday", also-ran, television channel (formerly 'UK History') is again showing the short series - "Their Finest Hour" at the moment, apparently started last Thursday, and ending tomorrow night (Thursday 10th March); and tonight's is the 'railways' one, and is on now (21:00-22:00).
There's also a "Their Finest Hour" listed for later on tonight (01:00-02:00, Thursday) : In all probability the same 'railways' episode again.

There's also an article in the April 2001 (V15/4) edition of Backtrack about the railways at war, pp204-207.
