You're both thinking in the right direction: so, any suggestions on how an Elkie Brooks song and the flouncy Portugese winger employed at Old Trafford may combine in the form of an LNER locomotive?

Man, you must have
really sinned. Still, as a Newcastle United supporter I have quite a lot of sympathy with you at the moment.

OK - how about telling me which locomotive doubles as a particularly fast newspaper delivery vehicle?

That's a very good answer and fits the clue perfectly, but it's not the one I had in mind.

A coconut to that man. I used the term "newspaper" loosely, of course.
Now, would anyone care to speculate on the locomotive apparently named after a statue of an early-1970s glam rock artist?

Doesn't the mind work in mysterious ways? I woke up in the small hours with the answer in my head.
Bronzino

Bronzino
I always find that several ounces of Stilton before going to bed helps.
Anyway, "Bronzino" is correct.
One final question: which diet-friendly locomotive comes in mint and orange?

Could this be the A3 class.
60100 Spearmint (of course)
and.....stretching the point..
60050 Persimmon, sold in the UK as Sharon Fruit, and orange in colour?
Salmon Trout is pink, but it could come in a Sandwich, provided you use a Harvester's Loaf. (Wince)
