Bit of a long shot but you never know, somebody may be able to help. I don't know who the artist is but I'm looking for a print that I saw at the Seaford Model Railway Exhibition last week. It's a snow scene set somewhere to the north of Finsbury Park with a teak coloured quad set to the left of the picture and what looked like an N2 on the front leaving the station with another loco approaching with the outline of the approaching signals also painted in. Apart from the snow is the striking detail reflected in the coach glass.
All I do know is that the guy selling it sometimes exhibits in one of the railway carriages at Horsted Keynes on the Bluebell Railway, but he is not the artist.

Re: LNER Prints
The picture was painted by Malcolm Root and features as November/December 2010 in his calendar of railway paintings. He publishes one every year and you should find the necessary details etc on his website.
I am not aware that it is available as a separate print, but he may still have some left.

Re: LNER Prints
As noted above the print is by Malcolm Root. The print was on show yesterday at the Letchworth Model Railway exhibition ... for sale at £25.... a signed copy by Malcolm Root. I pondered bying one myself, I think it would be about 15x18... and as you say with an N2 plus Quad Arts pulling away with and A4 coming towards the platforms... the detail on the signals is very good ... in fact a great picture.
The chap exhibiting was Matthew Cousins.. a volunteer on the Bluebell and an artist in his own right... he had on display a series of his own prints depicting Tornado in its various possible liveries plus others.
I havent had chance to look on the internet for any links to Matthew Cousins, so I am not sure if this helps in any way.
He had a number of prints on sale but unfortunately not Roots... A4 at Cadwell... the one of which I would like a 2nd copy
Steve W.
PS One of Cousins paintings graces the Exhibitions catalogue and depicts a BR Blue A3, with a Norseman headboard, with Teak Thompsons coming up Holloway bank

Re: LNER Prints
Thanks for the responses. I googled Malcolm Root and kept getting galleries selling his books, but I eventually found Matthew Cousins on the Bluebell site. Should have looked there first since I'm also a BRPS member - mattjcousins53@aol.com
Anyhow, I phoned him on his mobile, although the print has been sold at Letchworth, he is contacting Malcolm Root to get hold of another copy. Good result. Must admit I'd never really looked at railway prints and am quite impressed by Malcolm Root. Usually the focus is on a loco, but there seems more to his work.

Try www.prints4u.co.uk on which there are some of Malcolm's current prints for sale. He also produces a calender each year comprising 6 railway subject or an alternative covering 12 general transport subjects. These are published by Rose of Colchester and are available for individual firms branding.
Malcolm's work has been highly regarded for some 30 years now and I am lucky to have seven originals which he has produced for me over the years. Watch out also for his work for several jigsaw manufacturer.

Re: LNER Prints
I believe the painting is of a scene at the South end of Harringay Up platform.
