council run not a penny slot in sight not even fitted with a Radar (Royal Assosiation forDisabled And Rehabilities) key , and free all day parking , go under the bridge or you'll pay £3 on Rattys car park !

That reminds me of the supposed story about the person in Weston Super Mare who wanted to get to some village by train and was told to "Go to the WC and P!!" ..... The Weston, Clevedon & Portishead Railway

The old ones are the best. That story dates from the GWR era.

Another favourite is about the 2 little old sisters who wanted to go to Teignmouth for their holidays and ended up being put on the train(s) for TYNEMOUTH!

I often wonder if anyone got a photo of the signs that used to be present on the side of the A59 at Hutton between Southport and Preston in the 70s.
I intended doing it myself but left it too long.

pointing to the establishment on the opposite side of the road.
