George says somewhat tongue in cheek, lets call it Clint Eastwood the man with no name. Name made out of stainless steel letters all the way down the boiler. It does away with arguments about a heritage name and we might get a donation from the former mayor of Carmel.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

If it comes to fruition I take it that she would see a lot of unfamiliar territory like Tornado so WANDERING WILLIE might be appropriate................

I would plump for JOHN KNOX. The great Scottish reformer had North Eastern connections and was in fact offered the Bishopric of Durham at one stage. Here you have Scottish, Edinburgh and Presbyterian connections in one. The conservative Scots with their Calvinistic backgrounds did not warm to new ideas. Remember also that Sir Nigel leaned towards Catholicism in his later years.

In the 'Enforcer', Clint Eastwood posed as a Larry Dickhead in a brothel. A name to cunjure with for the P2 considering some of the other unlikely names.... :P

No more 'royal' names please - it only encourages them.

While waitimng to see the doctor yesterday I saw a recent copy of 'Railway Magazine' on the table. One of te headlines simply said, after Tornado - Cock 'O the North. Accompanying the title was a colour picture of said 2-8-2. So why this thread?

Perhaps there is a precedent here for using Cock O' the North as the original having been rebuilt anyway (twice) would not have survived in its latter form anyway whatever the scenario.

As others have said, anything relating to the former Edinburgh-Aberdeen route would be best IMHO.

He did spell "IT" correctly  . Sorry, I'm making a childish joke.....

I'd noticed too, but I couldn't make my mind up whether there was some clever and subtle double-entendre, a genuine slip, or the now all too usual lak ov kermand ov the Ingerlish langwidge :?

One word - Dictionary. My girlfriend is dyslexic and is just finishing her masters year at Loughborough, doing English, and is never seen without it. Simple fix, she calls it.

I wouldn't rely on computer spellcheckers anyway - this one on my Mac prefers to remove the 'u' from a lot of words like Color.

EDIT: See?!
