Spalding - Boston

Post by DWC »

First of all hello!

Secondly I'm trying to find photo's/information about the East Licolnshire Main Line between Spalding and Boston.
Can anyone point me to any fotopic sites of other websites or recomend any book etc?
I've tried google etc but there seems to be very little about this stretch of railway.

Thanks for any help!

Dave.

Hello Dave,

You could start with this website, http://homepage.ntlworld.com/david.enef ... /lincs.htm

It has photos of various Lincolnshire railways.

Unless you've already checked, I'd suggest you obtain and study Alf Ludlam's books (Oakwood Press) on the 1. The River Witham and the Lincolnshire Loop Line, 2. The East Lincolnshire Railway, and also check back issues of Steam Days for related Alf Ludlam articles.
If you can, it may also be of use to contact Market Deeping model railway club as I presume they did not build their Sutterton and Algakirk layout without reference to photos, so they may be willing to point you to the source(s) of these.
Most subjects, models and techniques covered in this thread are now listed in various categories on page1
