Raven A2 rebuild
When the locos were fitted with Gresley boilers they were supposedly converted to left hand drive but all the photos of City of Ripon show the ejector pipe still on the right-hand side of the boiler, any ideas anyone?
Hi
RCTS Part2A states all Raven Pacifics were right hand drive for all of their life.
It also states only 2404 had a A1 boiler .It also states following: Doncaster TYpe Cab fitted as the NER version couldnt fit to the A1 firebox which was to wide.Plus footplate widened at rear plus other mods including a 8 wheel tender!!

RAVEN A2
Hi
More browsing reveals that all of the class had them fitted between August 1934 and January 1935 and stayed with them for last two years of their life. They were then used on A1 and A3's. The original tenders were used on new J39's 1475-9

By the look of the photo I have of City of Ripon the Gresley boiler kept the Raven smokebox door arrangement, or perhaps its just a bad photo?

on the right boiler side midway there appears to be a Westinghouse pump,
were they air fitted for some stock?
