This might be rather old hat to some people. How do I go about obtaining information, data, drawings, etc, from the NRM ? Do I have to go there in person and wait until they find what I need, or can this be done online ? I live in Spain so it's rather difficult to attend in person. If I go to UK for a short trip and attend in person, how long would it take to get the items that I want ?

Re: Information from the NRM
sir visto: If you are visiting the NRM in person it is best to email or phone beforehand to check on availability etc. I believe that there is a limited amount of research that can be done for you, some of which may be subject to a fee. Contact them and go from there, I've always found them very helpful. Good luck.
Re: Information from the NRM
Visit the online page, and email them. If you know what you are looking for then it's simple to order.
They will supply you with the reference numbers for the information, drawings, etc. you are looking for and an order form. I have ordered many things from them when I lived in Japan, and they always arrived.

Re: Information from the NRM
The NRM's new archive and reading room 'Search Engine' is superb and they are very approachable. Gone are the days when you needed to know the works number or the name of the draughtsman in the drawing office... Drop them a line. Once they got back to me the same day! http://www.nrm.org.uk/ResearchAndArchive.aspx
