Might anyone out there know of (or remember ???) some details of Guisborough station?
Having gone through multiple photographs it appears that there was a notch in the station platform in line with the "north" wall/window of the station to allow passage from the door next to the porters building down to wooden (?) ramping across the rails and through to the goods yard. Where there stairs/steps here? At a minimum there's a gap in the coping that lines up.
Any ideas on finish of the wall of the station under the roof and opposite the platform (the opposing side of the shared wall with the goods shed). It appears to have had a lower smooth portion (concrete? plaster ???) and an upper of some sort of slatting possible with some sort of metal between the two.
Some of the coal drop cells had raised and tiled(?) floors. Any thoughts on why or what the specific use was?
Last but not least the OS map of 1928 shows a structure on the coal depot/drops which the diagram in K. Hooles Branchline Termini book doesn't. It would correspond with the stonework portion of the shorter row of drops and I'm guessing would have been for lime delivery?
Any thoughts?
I'll be amazed if anyone can provide this kind of minutae but I thought I'd give it a shot.
