Hi,

I only recently joined this forum, and have spent a good hour or two reading through your thread and must say you have some fantastic models, and has been a great source of inspiration for me.

I look forward to keeping track of your thread and more progress on your models.

Well at the minute I am still in the planning stages, however I have posted this:

Fantastic thread this. But please tell me, how does one get images to come out the size they are on here. My JPEGS at 799 pixels across only come out half page and are full of jaggies.

Thank you Larry, that's much appreciated.

I post my images to Postimg, then just put links in the posts. They're resized to < 800 pixels wide before I post to Postimg and I save them as jpgs. I do them like that so I can use them on RMWeb as well without having to upload them twice, but it does help the display as well, I think.

You use the 'Img' button when you're editing then insert the 'direct' link from the Postimg site between the tags.

You can use thumbnails as well, if you want to speed up page load times (see the first page of my WB on RMWeb for what happens when you have too many big pictures to load).

Thanks for that, much asppreciated. I am taken with your GCR coaches. Would these be from Jidenko kits? I've been looking around for a source of GCR matchboard non-corridor coaches but have drawn a blank so far.

The corridor Composite is a genuine Jidenco kit, Larry; you'd have to bring yourself to live with the compromised dimensions, window alterations and very flimsy bogies. I don't know whether Falcon Brass have revised the etches at all (or even whether they're in production - there are contradictory stories circulating). I do like the coach now it's built, but it was unnecessarily hard to do.

As and when I build more I'll probably use Bill B bodies and scratchbuild the underframes. The bogie problem still remains, but Bill has said he's looking to do something in that area. That said, I seem to recall we had a discussion about GC bogies and you thought 247 might have had a cast one at some time in the past.

The 10' w.b. GCR bogie was part of my Larriparts range many moons ago. Not sure who has it now but it may be 247.

Interesting this. I had it in mind to produce my own coaches for the layout and sell on the surplus as RTR, but it is expensive nowadays. I revised my thinking and now buy in other manufacturers products. To this end, does Bill Bedford do GCR matchboard sububans? I need a couple for the layout. (I've found a few GCR corridor coaches in the 51L range).

I thought someone else might pick that up... I assume Larry's got his manufacturers mixed up as I can't see any on the Wizard/51L site. Other than Bill, Falcon Brass and Worsley Works I'm not sure anyone does any etched GC coaches?

Perseverence used to do some clerestories and Quainton Road some six wheelers.
