No Neill, it's a J50, possibly shunting the ex-works Pacific, which is not in steam.

Photo33304 Sceptre there is a seat back and a totem visible but i cant get enough resolution to identify the location. Sceptre was allocated to Heaton or Tweedmouth in BR days. I thought it might be on the Tweed valley line but cant id the location. The name on the seat back looks double barrelled and there might even be a prefix like St xxxxxx xxxxxx. The train could be a pigeon special.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

Merry Hampton (33284), I would also put this one as on the Down fast about a mile north of Potters Bar (see my post re 60102 and 60111 in 'A3s Pt.3' topic). The land around RedHall/Hatfield does not go quite so much lower than the railway as is visible left in the Merry Hampton pic.neildimmer wrote:giner wrote:Hi Neil. Minoru (33291) I'm not sure, but something tells me this might just actually be on the Down, leaving Welwyn South tunnel.

J51/2 to be precise, didn't they have the longer bunkers over their J50 brethren? Seen here.chaz harrison wrote:No Neill, it's a J50, possibly shunting the ex-works Pacific, which is not in steam.

EDIT:
My apologies - that colour photo of St. Gatien is superb! Thank you for posting it I wonder if I can use the Hornby Brown Jack model coming out for St.Gatien...
