Colombo,
I take my hat off to you sir, you are indeed correct though I do believe she was shedded at 52B Heaton near Wallsend (hence Vallum's end) in fairness I would think the shed code did change over the BR years and as I don't have my books at work I cannot easily check.

Well after all those easy ones, it's time for something a bit harder.
1. Its an ex LNER named engine.
2. It sounds like this member of the nobility owned a whisky distillery.
3. Spent a fair bit of time in foreign parts.
Elimentary, my dear Watson!

Colombo,
Is it Robinson Director class D11 62679 "Lord Glenallan"?
Shedded in foreign parts in 1950 at Haymarket 64B

Colombo,
Don't be vague, ask for ........!??!?
Class J36, 0-6-0 number 65226, named after Earl "Haig"
Twenty five were sent overseas during the first world war and were named commemoratively after battles such as the Somme and Ypres etc. etc.

And for a coincidence, I added the J36 names yesterday...
(iirc, there were two "Haig" - the second was an unofficial renaming in BR days after the first had been withdrawn)

Colombo,
It was the dimple that gave it away for me, something deep in my subconscious stirred and out popped Haig
Richard, I did refer to your J36 pages yesterday, they were very useful, but I had no idea you had only just posted them. What a lovely old locomotive they were.
Here's another easy one.
1. Ancient patron goddess of this class
2. Named after the land where Pan's people reign supreme
3. Shedded where a twinkling stream runs

Colombo,
no, no, no, no NO!?!?? although an admirable and interesting attempt I am afraid your answer is wrong.
A Woodhead electric scrapped in February 1985, I think not
Must try harder.
"Pan's People" is not a reference to a female dance troupe from the Top of the Pops era, and yes! "they" (PP) were delightful.

61650GTFC,
No, sorry, more along the lines of the much, much older and mythological role of Pan.

I think Pan was from Arcadia not sure of any locos with that name though. Although there was a Pulman Car of that name.
