Known in the trade as a 'Big Lizzie' - nice pic, FF

G'Day Gents
I see that they got Flying Scotsman going again, and the NRM have not listened to anyone, double chimney smoke deflectors and RED paint, must be a test run in undercoat
Hey, FF, going after a job with the paparartzzi, you'll soon have a a thing going with the 'Scum' newspaper, Nice Pic FF

Nice picture. Shame about the glare behind the loco, but having been there and looking at the shadows and the track in the foreground, I'm not sure what to suggest...
I'd count that one as having "atmosphere". It's no good for a postcard, but it would certainly atttract my attention if I was a picture editor looking for something to accompany a news item or press release. Looks about right to go with a piece about a test run/movement to a [Barrow Hill type event/Gala].

Its red! Proper engines aren't red (unless they are rusty).
Nice atmospheric shot though.

Re: What d'you think guys?
Good picture FF, of an impressive engine. I can't get excited about the streamlined Stanier Pacifics, which seem to me to deserve the epithet "Flying Bathtubs", but in this form they look handsome and powerful.
I hope you won't mind me commenting, digital photos are easier to rescue if they are a touch under-exposed. Once the detail is "burnt out", as in your background, there is not much you can do. Were the exposure to be set for the background the foreground would have been too dark, but editing software would allow you to retrieve this.
Of course no camera works well with the extremes of contrast you get on bright sunny days. Not much you can do about the weather, but overcast is best for photography!
