Re: Mornington Crescent
As a newcomer to the board and a relative newcomer to the game, am I correct in assuming this is being played largely to 'northern rules?' If so then I will invoke Braithwaite's Primary Hamper and offer Chalfont & Latimer.

Re: Mornington Crescent
'Northern Rules' are permissible, however, I feel a Northern League version, whilst technically and morally acceptable, would introduce unnecessary complications to playing online...
I have to say, Spamcan's play sounds a good one to me, I've used Hugh de Montague Smythe-D'Arrison-Smythe (more commonly known and easily typed as 'Lord Knaresborough') as my inspiration in several games. Whilst the good Lord is perhaps better known to us than his steward, Braithwaite is on record as being a noted and accomplished player.
As it is a Saturday night, I shall take my lead from 'Flash Hughie' and attempt to execute Morton's First Strategem as part of a backward triangulation, taking us to - Uxbridge.

Re: Mornington Crescent
I have read all the foregoing reasoning very carefully, and decided that, to satisfy a need to compensate for the senses of incredulity and unenlightenment, I need to think about my next play very deeply.

Rules notwithstanding and suffering from brain freeze as we sit through temperatures in the minus 40C range tonight, I hope I'm not off the rails by gunning for 'Arsenal'.

Nothing wrong with Arsenal, Giner, especially when you remember its alter ego "Gillespie Rd".

As Dr. Johnson always advised, if you feel you are going round in circles, then play 'Oval'... Personally, I can't bear such puns, so I have little choice other than to play - Paddington

if you want to play how about wimbledon
Re: Mornington Crescent
Some thought provoking moves here. I think it's time to play the Mornington equivalent of a "cross buttock" and go for Osterley.

Playing rough eh guvnor? If this is the bumpy landings phase of the game, I shall use Phelps Second Protocol and taxi along to Heathrow (T4), hopefully without running over anyone.

Re: Mornington Crescent
Is Brunels Impasse allowable under these rules or will banishment result? If the great western heretical strategem is applicable (note the use of lower case lettering) i will play Chalfont and Latimer
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.
