Peppercorn A1 60114 W. P. Allen spent nearly all of it's working life at Copley Hill. And Flying Scotsman was at Copley Hill during 1955 and 1960.

The Book 'LNER 150', by Patrick Whitehouse and David StJohn Thomas (ISBN 0 7153 13812 9) has a complete table of allocations for 11th January 1947.
I have put the North Eastern Area sheds into a database, so I can look up details of what locos and classes were at what shed.
This seems to work for me, although I have still not found ten of the 10 LMS 2-8-0s that were allocated to Heaton (that is the 'on-loan' engines not the Class 06 ones)

I beleive the RCTS has printed allocations for various sheds in the 1950s, and sometimes have these on sale on their stand at shows.

Zaphod Scotsman

I must take issue with your post above (0815hrs 06-05-12).
60114 W P Allen (Built 1948 withdrawn 1964) was allocated to Copley Hill from 1950 to 1953 not ‘nearly all of its working life there’;
Flying Scotsman might well have ‘been’ at Copley Hill in 1955 and 1960. It did of course work into Leeds regularly. It would have been serviced at Copley Hill. It was never allocated there.

Actually, W.P.Allen was allocated to Copley Hill for nearly all it's life. I know because Simon Martin, creator of The British Railway Stories, found that out in his books. And Flying Scotsman was allocated to 56C in 1995 and 1960, but wasn't recorded. Simon knows his stuff, so believe him.

Zaphod Scotsman, according to old shed books, 60114 was not shedded at Copley Hill for most of its life.
details I have found. New to KX Topshed 06/08/48, to Copley Hill 04/06/50, to Grantham 15/02/53, and finally to Doncaster 22/09/57 until WFU 12/64
60103 was never based there in 1960. Its final depot was Kings Cross Topshed from the 07/04/57 until WFU in February 63. Believe me, I worked on it. I can give you a complete rundown of its depots if you want it.

I meant 1955, it was a typo.

Listen bud, Simon is a genius and knows his facts. He once said that 60114 was allocated to Copley Hill for nearly it's whole entire life, he even said so in his interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnDNrDs-CWQ
