Gresley LNER design CLC coaches.

Post by industrial »

Dose anybody have information on the CLC twins built in 1937 to CLC Diag 83 and 84 ie numbers and were they the same as standard coaches ie CLC Diag 83 the same as 105/125 etc.

I can't find anything out on the CLC section of the LNER Encyclopedia.

These are in Harris' LNER Standard Coaches.
D. 83 was similar to the LNER D.278 , BT(4)/T(8) on angle iron underframes.
Numbers
BT 701/7/9/15/7/23
T 702/8/10/6/8/24

BR numbers
BT M60101/7/9/15/7/23
T M60102/8/10/6/8/24

D. 84 was unique. The third was the same as in D.83, while the lav composite was similar to the non-articulated D. 50.

Numbers
Cl 704/6/12/4/20/2
T 703/5/11/13/9/21

BR numbers
Cl M60104/6/12/4/20/2
T M60103/5/11/13/9/21
