Evening all
Took a little break from work to pop down to see Bittern when she came into Swindon. Here's a couple of shots to mark the event. It's going to Bath and Bristol on Tuesday so a trip to Oldfield Park is on the cards. Enjoy.

Bittern out on the LSW main line this morning on the way to Bath & Bristol

60019 at Hook this morning (Tuesday 1 December)

This is a screen capture from a video so the quality is not brilliant. As the train was not booked to stop for water at Winchfield I thought it might come down on the fast line, but no such luck. Still going fast through Hook though.

Todays run was the first of several booked for 60019 haulage over the next week or so. On Thursday Bittern is due to go to Lincoln, on Saturday to Cardiff, and next Tuesday to Ely. A quick estimate shows that the A4's mileage on these 4 trains, excluding light engine movements, will amount to more than 1000 miles. Not bad for this day and age, if it could be maintained over a full year that would be a good respectable annual total.
