Heljan Clayton

Post by redtoon1892 »

At last it has arrived from Modelfair, the Class 17 limited edition just released nine months late from Heljan, I was beginning to give up hope. Well timed as I have just returned from travelling transatlantic by ship.
Just waiting for the very limited edition Heljan Class 14 to appear from Hattons now before I am off on my travels again next week to Austria.

I have just received an e mail from Modelfair inviting me to return my Class 17 for a brand new replacement.
I have had a "little" sticking with it so I do intend to return the loco.
Anyone else who bought one of these had a similar offer ?

Aye, although never had a problem in Austria, will be next May before I am back there but in the meantime I will be in Spain for 6 weeks from January so may get some locations in, then the Carribean again & Cuba & Venezuela in April, never done Cuba before but I am a bit wary of Communist countries and I wont have time in Venezuela.
Croatia & that area is also on the cards for next year as well as the Baltic.
Maybe I should change my name to Thomas Cook ? or is it Crook ?.

The dates on the pics are wrong as I forgot to reset after changing camera batteries, senior moment - again !!!!!!!

Class 17 returned from Modelfair with new gears and motor, just took a week and it had to be sent to Heljan, Denmark for the work to be done. no refund of £3.75 postage though.
Put me off Heljan a bit, see how my pre order class 14 Teddybear performs, the "latest" proposed delivery is Easter.
