NYMR not quite what we would like

Post by Tom Quayle »

The timetable is up for this weekends gala with a few notable missing
No LNER locos (set fo 3 teak coaches with city of braso)
No black 5s
No S15 number 825
No freight train
The weather here is Baltic but so were the tank engines
Furness Railway and GCR fan.
125mph tilt vs 126.5mph duck

Ahh but we have known their wouldn't be a Black 5 and an S15 for ages now, what can we do about a lack of LNER locos? Nothing, there just are not enough to go around as only 1 went to Dai Woodhams. Also Truro isn't the only loco running with teaks. The person who wrote the timetable didn't want freight, so there is no freight.

I know that 3440 isn' the only one on teaks, the other on teak is 0-6-2 no29 that could be good. Looking forward to the Banked pullman on friday night. Well its the only way they would get 3440 up the bank with an 7 coach load (4 pullman 3 MK1s)

It will be just the Dining stock, no passenger stock so it will be 4-5 coaches, otherwise it would never make it back! There is a bank the other way you know

Yes I know but it isn't as steep and the Super D is banking it even if it is only 5 its just every time Ive been there has been 3 MK1s on the rear of the Pullman rake for standard passengers or is that just the Sunday Moorlander. Lol Braso it remains though 3 coach locals all weekend apart from one full rake run with 6619 on the Sunday morning

What you seem to forget is City of Truro is on loan to NYMR from the NRM, which means the terms of that loan may well limit her to the number of carriages she is allowed to haul on this line by herself or assisted.

instead of moaning about the cans and cannots be grateful shes at the NYMR for this short spell and enjoy, i did riding behind her sunday gone.

Im not moaning about it. I just find it funny in my own stupid way. Remember what happerned at Keigthley it couldnt get a 5 coach train started without the assitance of the Ivatt tank. Lol out done by a Jinty Gresley was right.

Is this how the mind of the Enthiusiast works? I sincerely hope not or Preserved Railways will struggle...
