Not my best photo of Green Arrow; a bit too much clutter for my taste, although it's always nice to include a signal.

This is at Loughborough. It's not a SPAD, the loco is coming towards us. Incidentally the home arm is not connected, only the shunt arm and the disc are in use.

Where was it stored after preservation? Dinting? There was a story about the motion having been stripped off and lost; Dick Hardy was in a shed somewhere with a load of preserved locos and decided to eat his lunch in the cab of the J17, only to find the V2 motion stacked up in the tender.

I wonder how well it would have run with the proposed wooden replacements....

Not Dinting, but it is a shed not usually associated with V2s.

Dont know the shed but the double girder crane above it is fitted with a Morris WG (worm gear) hand operated hoist block.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

Yes, Norwich. The photos date from Summer 1972 when 4771 was at Norwich where its restoration to working order was being led by Bill Harvey, who used to be the shedmaster at Norwich.

If you look closely behind the Snowplough you will see two wagons, i photographed them from every angle but lost the pics in a house move. One is an LNER fish van in faded blue with NE on the side and the other is a Sulphuric Acid tank these would be invaluble today for modelling purposes.

Just been through the photo again and it appears that the plough is 982 built at Gorton Delivered 1957 - 8
Frames are ex J11 0-6-0s
These new ploughs 981 - 992 enabled the withdrawl of 12 of the former NER timber ploughs.
Leaving just 900572 / 573 + 574 as the last 3 Timber framed ploughs with the 4 NER steel bodied ploughs all remaining in service. 900573 was finally withdrawn in 1962.

Glad to help, do you know the allocation history of it? Whilst on about Tweedmouth the Breakdown crane was a Cowans and Sheldon 35 ton LNER 901630 supposedly allocated from 1937 to 1960 then to Thornaby from 1964 to 1967 where was it inbetween times and did Tweedmouth get another crane after 1960 because im certain they had one till about 1965.
