Slightly off topic, but there's still a very strong Scottish connection here in Whitley Bay; the Scout troop I help run has Cameron of Erracht neckerchiefs, and at least two others locally also have tartan ones.

Hi

My Dad, Tom Everard worked from the Central Station from May 1957 to October 1988 when he retired. He started work as a train shunter (I think) his retirement record says "Supy Gds Ptr T/Shntr". I have attached a photograph of my Dad from the 1959 there are two of these photographs from a very similar angle; this one and another close up one I have always really liked them. It would be lovely if you knew him?
