More wires, will this replace KX to Glasgow via Carstairs?

I hope they do transfer the Edinburgh to Glasgow service away from the Carstairs route, it is a rather round-about way to say the least. Carstairs is actually south of Berwick, it is about level with Goswick, so a (northbound) Glasgow train runs all the way up to Edinburgh then runs back down again so that 1 1/4 hours after leaving Berwick it is further south than when it started before turning north again to Glasgow. It can be an attractive journey, but is rather tedious. I prefer to change to a direct scotrail service in Edinburgh which can save 3/4 hour.

I missed my direct York train out of Glasgow but a quick walk across town and caught the other route to Edinburgh, got in ahead of the train I should have been on.
