Did Triang ever do a OO gauge Claud Hamilton 4-4-0?

I don't think there's ever been a ready-to-run D14/15/16, from Triang or any other manufacturer.

The Model Railway Constructer did a article on how to convert a B12 to a Claud,roundtop type boiler.
I think the article was in the mid seventies.I stand to be corrected.
I bought a converted Claud BR black in EM at the NEC Warley show a few years back.Has to be repainted back to LNER 30's.Nice job done.

Thanks Joseph and Bullhead.
I think one of the converted B12 appeared on ebay late April, which is why I asked.
In fact the seller was quoting the Triang tender number (which was always sold separately) as the model number.
It looked OK, in LNER green. I did not keep a record of the sale price.

Hi, I did keep a record of the Triang D15/16 'Claud Hamilton' 440 Loco on ebay and it sold for just 26 pounds, about A$55 Australian. Looked okay too. Possibly used an Triang L1 Chassis, though it may be possible to use a new Loco Drive Schools chassis with out the valve gear in a B12 body. I have 2x loco bodies and a spare tender which I may attempt the same.

But I am only after a LNER (ex GCR) D10 4-4-0 5433 'Walter Burgh Gair' lined black. Will wait to see if Hornby have a go next year as this loco topped latest model wish list in Steam section. Otherwise I will attempt a PDK kit.

Yes, Mark, I though that loco looked quite good.

The D10 would be very popular, especially with one in preservation.
If it happens, and in original GC colours, it would be the first ever mass-produced GC loco, I believe.

What I am hoping for, is Hornby doing some bodies in cast metal, rather than plastic. Now with much of this done in China, it might be economically feasible

Tri-ang never made a Claud Hamilton. I keep pestering Hornby to make one, but as I have waited for City of Truro since Hornby announced the release of City of Truro in 1975, I don't hold out much hope. Sorry LNER fans for mentioning the GWR.

My father, who had to use the GWR when he was in the army, decided that it stood for "Go When Ready".
