LNER Might-Have-Beens

Post by mjbyyz »

Does anyone know if there are existing, or where they can be found, drawings and/or specs of any LNER locos that 'might-have-been?
I am a Gresley/Peppercorn fan/admirer and have a close coupled 0-6-0 (or 2-6-0) chassis, with 5ft 2in drivers, on which I wish to build a model body of a possible design by either of these CMEs - or anyone else for that matter, but preferably LNER.
It can be a Tank engine (not v likely with a close coupled wheelbase) or a small tender engine.
Anyone have any ideas? I'd appreciate it.

The NRM Archive is a good place to start, it contains SNG's Super A4 4-6-4 plans.

RCTS Locos of the LNER Vol 10A has a series of diagrams of proposed designs. There are also such diagrams in other volumes in the series.

Thanks for the two replies (just found!).
I have some of the RCTS series and have browsed through the pertinent ones - I thought. So far I haven't come across much of help. And I don't have 10A.
[Sorry for the long delay in answering - there is no alert on e-mail like on some forums to remind one.]
I'm still actively looking.
