Can the forum members enlighten me on where members of the B17 & D49 class were named. I note that some of the B17s had Castle names from North East England. Was Alnwick Castle named at Alnwick etc or were names applied without much ceremony in the works.
The same goes for the Shires & Hunts were they named at the County town or nearest railhead to the Hunt.
The naming of V2 regiments and schools seem to have been a much grander occasion i have seen pictures of these events and was wondering if the second division LNER classes got the same treatment as V2s or Pacifics.
