A 1959 shed database
I am currently compiling a loco list from info in Ian Allen books and have done a few shed oready.
Annersley
Nottingham
Rugby
York
Leeds (both sheds)
Leicester Midland and central
Doncaster
Retford
Rugby Test Centre
Anyone have a suggestion for the next I am focusing the early attention to ECML and GCR sheds as well as the Midland Mainline.

The Locoshed Index gives the running numbers of all the locos allocated to BR MPDs for several different years during the 50s. Seehttp://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~luigi ... coshed.htm, but I think you know that already.
Presumably you are adding the loco classifications as well to make your list more user friendly. After all not everybody knows the numbering system for each class by heart.

Found some interesting things while doing the database. For example westinghouse standard 5 73031 was allocated to Rugby test centre lol its an excuse to run it onto annersley as if it has worked a test run and a fault has developed. It seams that most of the Pacifics allocated to the ECML sheds closest to Annersley have convieniant names like Sir Vincent Raven and Great Central. Another interesting one was that there was still a D49 at York which I didn't know and gives me an excuse agian for a 4 or 5 coach stopper with a D49 on the front.

Yes whats the shed code. Connot find it in my book. Ill have another go when I have finished Upperby (12B) and Canal (12C). Hopefully it is not as big as Crewe lol

Dereham along with a number of other small sheds in Norfolk came under Norwich District. In late 1948/early 1949 the LNE Region of British railways adopted the former LMSR number code system and Norwich became 32A. The other two former GE Districts became 30A Stratford and Cambridge 31A.
Dereham, since GER days came under Norwich. In LNER days the locos home shed name would have been painted on the buffer beam of the loco's - however I've never seen a photo with "DEREHAM" painted on a loco buffer beam.

Dereham Shed
According to "GER Engine sheds" by Chris Hawkins:
".............by 1954 Norwich was supplying four D-16 4-4-0's, an E-4 2-4-0, a J-15 and two J-17 0-6-0s."
"Dereham shed closed to steam from 19 September 1955 with the introduction of DMU's."
Also:
"Branch & Byways East Anglia" by John Brodribb includes a photo of the 6.5pm Dereham to Norwich service being hauled by E-4 2-4-0 62789 and in August 1955 Class D-16/3 4-4-0 62610 on a train for Dereham.
The book "The Well-Next-the-Sea Branch" by Stanley Jenkins has a reasonable selection of photos of the branch. If you wanted to model LNER days you could also include NER J-21 300, which worked the line! (i.e. the same class as now under restoration on the NNR at Sheringham).
