Should the "Fish" plate be lower as on the "Fruit" van?. Ambis do a nice etch of the Fish and Fruit plates, if you do not know.

hi Mick...
the two Fish are LMS and I'm going pretty blind with them, basically just following the Parkside instructions..apparently built in 1941 with absolute economy lettering, not even LMS.....I need to get a "Tatlow" for the other 3 companies really ....is there an LMS encyclopedia?...I'd happily joint one for the other 3 as I'm overloaded on LNER rolling stock....probably a common affliction!!

Rob,
Bob Essery and I think David Jenkinson produced a 2 volume set I think of LMS Stock.
Old but worth looking for.

...I'll keep a look out the, thank you...seems a bit daft to be producing reasonably accurate LNER stock and part-guessing the others!

Robs workbench...

...A very slight update......
Finished this POWsides kit...always thought that models of the Colemans advertising wagons were overcooked but found a photo in one of my PO books where the red contrasted clearly with the rest of the colours and its a thorough job....even the axles and bolt heads all in red!...I presume Colmans would have very few fully decked out like that....I did not attempt the bolt heads!

...and four Dia 3D kits... nearly ready for lettering.....

just a quick shot of the bog standard DJH D20 kit after running trials with no detail yet....still in two minds about attempting to remediate the tender frame cutouts while its in bare metal but I'm already researching the next build so maybe not!!!

I did make an effort to file the frames down as I'm considering finishing it as 1234 (which is a great number I think) in lined black....

You clearly haven't lost the knack of loco kit building.

.....so far less lethal than its namesake but also less effective....my ancient SRB soldering iron controller died and while it may be fixable this McGyver is just about OK for now....

Only just got my camera up and running again so a few more....D20 ready for primer, balance weights not fitted yet....I'm thinking No1234,lined black. The fishvans are Falcon/Jidenco,always an adventurous build but now sadlt defunct I believe....the RH is Jonathans, the LH with incorrect lettering is mine.....the van and a NER std van were wonderful gifts from Jonathan for a few anachronisms I'd sent him last year!...he'd even added the 8BA bolt I use for coupling mounting in the right places!!

...the Dia 3d wagons are lettered but the roofs will need some filling and levelling next time I get some light filler in stock....really enjoyed building them...

The final photo compares the 3D 6 wheeler with a D&S 8 wheeler.....they do a kit for that version as well....
