Brake van- Toad E help please.

Post by Cosa200 »

Hello all.
I’m building the Parkside O gauge Toad E model kit, PS113 kit reference.
Has anyone else built this, as I’m having trouble with the under frame details, as the instructions aren’t very clear, and also where the sandboxes go too.
Can anyone help me please…
A picture would be a great help.

Thank you.

I'll sort out and post some photographs taken of the Toad B underframe being restored at the Mid Suffolk Light Railway a few years back but I need to reduce their size first to meet the forum requirements.

As to the sandboxes and sanding gear, they were an original fitment but removed by 1935 as the railway companies agreed that it was unnecessary. If you wish to model between 1930-35 then they were placed centrally (laterally and vertically) on the inside face of the end balcony boarding with the hopper shape to the base.
