York Queen Street bridge to be demolished

Post by PinzaC55 »

Plans to demolish the former Queen Street railway bridge and several buildings adjacent to it have been approved by City Of York Council. The bridge originally gave access to the Y&NMR terminus which was turned into the Council HQ 8 years ago.

I'm surprised it is going so smoothly as it's a huge job. They still have to pile the embankment the city walls stand on and hopefully they could reuse the sandstone blocks from the bridge to face the retaining wall.
