This is a great live webcam to watch the comings and goings on the canal, very clear images that update every few seconds. You can watch the "mules" at work guiding not towing the ships through, its amazing given the height of the containers stacked on deck of some that they manage to stay upright.
Use the High Resoltuion option for a full screen view.

Forgot to mention that the busier the webcam gets the slower it updates, you can see the progress bar at the top of the image.

A few years back Channel 4 did a railway season similar to the recent BBC 4 session.
One of the films shown was the construction of the canal and its associated railway system.
Is this film available anywhere?
