Some time ago one of the contributors published details of the slanted windows that resulted from the use of the larger tanks. I apologise if I'm stealing their thunder, but these arhttps://www.lner.info/forums/download/file.php? ... &id=26670e the notes/transcriptions I made at the time.

G'Day Gents
I hope everyone had a great time over Christmas.
Being Christmas, not a lot has been done, a small bit has been done on the J54, just filled in the coal bunker. The J3 has had it's boiler bands fitted, buffers and flares to the tender. I can't find my handrail knobs, so more will have to be sent out from the UK.

Re: Edgware GN. What next.
As a matter of interest, please may I enquire about the provenance of the safety valve cover on your J54?
For the model I built (links posted above) I turned this item from a brass woodscrew.

G'Day drmditch.
I think from memory, it was from a Midland 0-6-0 tank. I know it is brass and I got it from E-Bay.

Terry remind me to show you one when you visit on Monday. I bought one for an old Kitmaster Stirlingle Kit I have. I'm pretty sure it's the Gibson one.

It was good to catch up today when you visited me Terry.
I hope all your plans for the new layout based on Bounds Green and the area north of Wood Green work out.
Happy Modelling.

Thank you for your hospitality, always like seeing your layout, double headed 'Atlantic's' Wow! I'm sure it will come to fruition. Thank you for the tender, I feel another J4 coming on
The Coronation set will be carefully put away for a later date.

Good luck with the coronation set when you get round to building it, I've never had the ability to tackle one.
Re: Edgware GN. What next.
Ditto a 5 Car Mailcoach Tourist set was enough for me years ago. Good luck!!.

I know it'll be a Challenge, but we'll give it a go, I've done a couple of suburban pairs, (my thoughts) so if I treat them as just pairs, I might turn out a reasonable train, you'll just have to squint.
