Well Sunday saw the closing of the line to Ingleby, the local pikeys will no doubt be
busy lifting the track now.
Jonathan brought along with many other things......but not his dick, was a rather nice 3d
printed GC carriage.
I took my Pooleys van, I was amazed it didn't derail on the points and was very free running.

Morning Chas, Ill have to refer you to my colleague Mr King on that one - he sourced these for the Grantham group in the early days and I have a feeling the t shirts are no longer available in the appropriate colour.

I believe the LNER Soc has some sort of wearable regalia for sale, but I suspect it is in blue. Not my preference at all.

After a succesful test on Ingleby a bit more progress. Scottiedog had wondered if we would see it finished, well it's getting there.
Couplings added and roof cold rolled as described before from 2 layers of 10 thou plastic, marked out for the rooflight.
There is only one, I marked it for 2. I forgot to say the buffers are some NER ones I got years ago from David Geen.

At least you have a handsome set of memorial photos of the layout in this form, looks very fine.

We took a lot of photo's.

Roof now in place with the forge chimney, 2 vents and the skylight. the skylight needs framing and a glazing bar added.
I'm quite pleased with it so far, as it's an unusual thing to run on your railway. Can't say I've seen one modelled before, Know doubt
someone will correct that and let us know if there is another.

Very nice Dave and I would think it's unusual too. I'd never heard of the type before you posted about this model, let alone seen one. There were quite a lot of Departmental / Engineering / Depot vehicles that are so well known, yet to learn about... Tatlow and the GNRS volumes have a lot of interesting material...

That alone is unusual, and how hot must it have been when working in so confined a space? Lovely distinctively different model.

This begs the question, just how many such weighing equipment service vans there might have been on the UK railway system, at the peak of freight handling? There was at least one other very prominent supplier of railway weighing kit beside Avery and Pooley, but my google-fu isn't working this morning...

It was nice to see Ingleby a few times in the Middlesbrough premises.

Always good to see the regulars and occasionally be invited back to Guisborough for 'tea'.
