Well spotted Graeme, it was a far too subtle joke aimed at Mr Craig who didn't spot it.

Very long tension links on both loco and carriages, IIRC. The outer bogies have NEM pockets on, but I'd only brought one coupling with me.Do I recall a coupling issue with this set, hence the rather odd photo?

Re: Daves C & W Works
Thanks John and Jonathan, you both have better memories than me.
D49 - I've made and fitted the 2 sandbox fillers, they are not as the original as the pipe has a few bends which you will not be able to see and too hard to form, so they are just straight. The cap in the drawing was thinner but I had made them before I recalled I had the drawing. The photo shows that I still need to clean up the thingy box.
Following on from conversations at Thirsk, I bought some 3D printed items from Floyd Kraemer on Ebay who sells some interesting LNER bits,
Buffet Car chrome seats and a water heater, cash register set. These arrived today, the detail is very good, I'm very impressed. One pic shows how the seats come, very well supported. The seats will enable me to complete my Kirk Buffet Car as I had made a jig and had been very slowly soldering up out of NS wire the chrome seats, which were/are a complete pain to make.

Re: Daves C & W Works
I bought the 7mm equivalents of all those for my Kirk Buffet car which, while it is already under construction it has yet to break cover and feature in a forum post...

Ahhhhhhhhh - thank you both, gentlemen, an excellent joint effort! Mick edges ahead to the finish line though Rob, as the underscore separating the names was the missing element. I should have thought of that, as it's a format used by quite a lot of Ebay names.
As well as the seats you showed us Dave, there are lots of interesting looking items...

Re: Daves C & W Works
Chas I see I've been beaten to it, thanks chaps for helping. I found he was very good to deal with and the items came very quickly.
I've trimmed up all the seats and only brolen a bit of leg on one chair.........result I think.
Whilst enjoying the rain yesterday I masked up the D49, and in the sun today given the black areas a coat of Halfords
matt black. Some of my masking was not to good but on the whole not too bad.
So much activity on the dormant D49 of late....must be a bad omen.

That's so odd Rob - I did too but couldn't find it: the vagaries of Ebay!

Re: Daves C & W Works
Well a bit more on the D49. I got a spray can of Precision Darlington Green at the last York show
for this loco. Typical, I came to use it for the first time the other day...............nothing, not a spurt
just nothing, I tried a different nozzle and still nothing, so it went in the bin.
Not impressed to say the least, the can was stored upside down as instructions say. has anyone else
had problems with their cans.
So a rusty very old tin of their Darlington green was opened and mixed with my modified Ikea milk frother
and a trusty paint brush.........1 coat of green now applied. As usual the coverage of Precision is not very good I
think 2 more coats will do, which is why I got the spray can.
