J21 finished . Cab interior was scratchbuilt, other than the Backhead casting and its fittings.

A nice interior it is too - as is the rest of the model.

Cheers !!
Re: Micks 4mm LNER Models
D&S NER Birdcage 3rd , it has a scratch Brass Roof made . The kits plastic effort is simply dire.
It will hopefully look like this one when finished. The only Teak scumbled ex NER Suburban Coach @ York mid 1930's, I have ever seen a photo off.

Worth it though, I'd suggest! We spend so much time looking at roofs that less usual features like that are worth their weight I think...

Re: Micks 4mm LNER Models
Agreed , it was a good decision to roll a Brass scratch roof for it. It was soldered on, there wont be any corners lifting in a few weeks as plastic roofs quite often do. The soldered roof also makes the whole Coach much more rigid and stronger.
The plastic Roof supplied by D&sS Roof is very thick and its not even rolled to the correct curve, it would have blocked/hidden most of the Birdcage window areas if fitted.
I have seen one other built version of the same Coach . Whoever made it solution, was to glue the Birdcage etch on top of the plastic roof !! its a bit overscale at a minimum !!
