New project
Having dismantled my rather over ambitious layout of the Leicester Great Central station, I am now considering a much more manageable idea for a lone modeller, still based on the Great Central, based on the station close to where I grew up at Whetstone. Can someone direct me to track plan that is based just after the Nationalisation of the railways, I have yet to find anything on the internet.

Re: New project
Does National Library of Scotland maps section list a large scale 1950s OS for the area?

I'll have a look, but as it's in Leicestershire, probably not.Atlantic 3279 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 4:43 pm Does National Library of Scotland maps section list a large scale 1950s OS for the area?

I found that just now, thanks giner, that will give me the basis to work from, there are one or two photographs taken there in one of my books, just need to decide how this project will take place, it might replace the current one, just need to work out how much room it will need.

As you can probably now see, thanks to additional input, they have loads of OS maps for England too.

Re: New project
The most recent large scale map of Whetstone that the National Library of Scotland hold appears to be this one, surveyed in 1928.

Thanks Tom, just what I was after
Re: New project
Hmm, it's a lot longer than I remember, not sure I can do that justice as a proper example, I may end up doing something smaller, still want to return to the Great Central though. I wasn't intending to copy anything on the preserved line north of Leicester, but it might make more sense really.
