TORNADO pulling Royal Train

Post by Ferrybridge Flyer »

This may be of interest to anyone in Yorkshire this Thursday,19th February,TORNADO is pulling the Royal Train from York to Leeds. The times aren't on yet,but uksteam/info should hopefully have them on soon.Hope the weather holds! I've e-mailed the NRM to see if they know the timings, but as our next-in -line will be on the train, with his lovely wife,i suppose security will want things kept quiet!

It won't be on UK Steam, as it's not a public Train!
The Train will arrive in York, where at 10:00 to around 11:00 HRH The Prince Of Wales, and the Duchess Of Cornwall, will unviel the Nameplates (finally). Then Tornado will take the Train to Leeds.

Thanks a lot Yorksteam,i'll just make sure i'm in place about 10am.The more practice i get with my camera, the better!I can't decide between colton or Church Fenton.Suppose Fenton would make for a better close up shot.

Remember there will be increased security and some places may have restricted access.

Just like to say TORNADO looked just grand on thursday.I saw it at Burton Salmon-got 3 great shots-and at Ulleskelf coming back-one great shot of the 67 on the back!Especially enjoyed the moment when everyone took a photo of the police helicopter that buzzed Burton Salmon bridge.Very funny!!Like the nameplate-looked like it had an RAF crest above it.Well done to all involved!!
