Its do able , just takes a bit more time (and swearing !!!).

If yours has coupling rods with a very large hole in the centre where there was artic rivet on the protype, bin them they are total rubbish !! and get some nice ones from 52F Models !! I suggest the other replacement parts as well if needed.

Mike Meggison's build of the Arthur K version of the J25 on RM Web, was also invaluable in this build as well.
Cheers Mick. All well noted there.

Will see where it is in the build list once I get home - and how long any enforced quarantine is...

LNER Ballast Brake Van built from a Silhouete Cutter Plastic kit from Quicksilver 95 on here. Towed by a Hornby J50 and Trout Ballast Wagons.

Nice kit , mine has some additions for additional long term strength.

Brass Roof and sub Floor. Brass steps.

Hello Mick, do Worsley Works sell the etched clerestory roof as a separate item?

Worsley Works now lists/sells Roofs ,as seperate items .

You need to confirm with him what you actually want. All the ex NER diagrams have slight differences in Top light window locations and side vents positions and sizes. Brake vehicles roofs are 2mm narrower as well . If you need them for D&S kits tell him, as his own NER kits have slight differences in sizing dimensions.

He has done Dia 5 ,7 and 18 for me, and I am still waiting for a Dia 14 to arrive at the moment.

Tell him exactly what you want before ordering is my advice and confirm he has them available, it takes 4 to 6 weeks or longer for the etches to be made.

Containers using repainted Unit Models LMS versions and Parkside , Yellow decals via Precision Labels via JW (thanks) and Powsides, etched side Chains from N Brass Locos which makes them a much quicker build.

Chas
In case you are not aware.
Cut the Clerestory glazing to size before you place the top small roof onto the main roof. It would be a devil of a job to cut once the roof is finished, access is very tight once built and painted.

Do you not leave the clerestory removable, Mick?

No all soldered , as said above as long as the glazing is pre cut there are no other problems (so far!). Easy access for rest of the glazing and seating and painting.

It also makes it into a very strong "box".
