2552 Sansovino near Peterborough - what a fabulous collection of stock.
The following one of 2552 is clearly at Grantham heading Up.
2559 The Tetrarch near Potters Bar with a down Harrogate service - the leading carriage still has the long plate sided GNR bogies as does the leading carriage in the next picture leaving York heading south.
2561 Minoru is entering Grantham from the south. Although lamped ordinary passenger, it's leading four perishable vans (most likely fruit?), a gas tanker, a GE CCT and a Howlden vehicle before the passenger vehicles begin.
2573 near Reston is hauling a full set of ex-NER bow ended vehicles.
4481 St Simon looks to be leading one of the all-steel 5 car sets introduced in the 1930s with some additional vehicles behind. The picture 3 along looks to be the same train in the same location.
The following one of 2552 is clearly at Grantham heading Up.

Can but agree with you there. What a selection of stock. Considering that in recent years both Hornby and Bachmann as the main pair of R.T.R. model makers have produced many early locos i.e. 1470 Great Northern in early L.&.N.E.R. livery and 2001 Cock of the North, it would be great if they produced more than the Gresley Teaks and slab sided Pullmans [both the matchboard and smooth skinned types]

Well, with some effort you can get fairly close. The two 6 wheel thirds are available from Mousa in resin, the dome ended ECJS brake would be a challenge, the, the 6 wheel BT is also a Mousa product. Beyond that the bogie Howldens are also going to be available from Mousa again, I believe and the last vehicle looks like a 58' Gresley brake which Isinglass offer. I think the end of the train is a bogie Howlden, a twin set (converted from 6 wheelers), a 6 wheeler and the 58' brake vehicle.

I believe it is on a Down service north of Peterborough, with the Midland (LMS) tracks to the right and the M&GN flyover in the background, New England shed would be just beyond the flyover. The layout of the tracks here is interesting, 2552 is on the Down main line, next to that is the Up main line, further to the left is the Down Goods followed by the Up Goods and a second Up coal line, this layout was to leave the main lines as free as possible because all the LNER yards were on the Up side of the lines at New England.
The location has been described recently on another site as Werrington Junction, I don't think this is correct, the Junction is a short distance to the north.
2573 at Reston. Not sure which way this is going, but it is the North Eastern Railway corridor set for the Leeds to Glasgow service. One has to remember the NER built very few corridor carriages for its own use. The number 64 sticks in my head, but that might be wrong!
The shot(s) of 4481 Jonathan has picked up on is a Down service climbing the bank from Potters Bar tunnel.
Photo 6/87 is just further up the bank, it is NOT an Up train
Is 11/87 2546 an Up train at High Dyke?
2563 might be at Hawick. I could go on.....
