A topper is proper if the train's a non-stopper!
Re: Guess the Station
The 'box looks GN to me but I have no idea where it is. Perhaps the old cullingworth branch but that is probably too far north.

note! also the bridge has two different sides ,one timber the other cast iron the timber one being the result of a derailment during the general strike when a locomotive went over the side and landed in the road below

Re: Guess the Station
My guess is that the first one is Wolferton, between King's Lynn and Hunstanton, which was unusually ornate because of its proximity to Sandringham. The 1962 short film "John Betjeman Goes by Train" includes some nice footage shot here.
No idea where the second one is, though.

So - did anyone dare tell Stephenson, "It's not Rocket science"?

Slateford, in the western suburbs of Edinburgh, with the platform being the former Caledonian station of Merchiston? If so, here's a picture of it before the only traffic it saw were white Transit flatbeds:

Re: Guess the Station
Quite correct! is this looking in the same direction? It is quite wierd when you get into Slateford depot itself and cross aformer railway bridge over a main line.Bullhead wrote:Slateford, in the western suburbs of Edinburgh, with the platform being the former Caledonian station of Merchiston?
