Just in case anyone is interested,this sunday's episode of "Time Team" is up on the Settle And Carlisle line-i think at Ribblehead.5.30 on channel 4.

Don't know if anyone else saw this programme..Very interesting.What wonderful people the navvies were.No elf n safety then!

It was a very entertaining programme. I think Phil Harding (the flint-napper with the hat) would have made a better navvy than the wee guy they chose to do the reenactment.

I read somewhere once that only the earthworm has moved more material than the navvies did.
So - did anyone dare tell Stephenson, "It's not Rocket science"?

For those like me who missed it the first time, it is on again tonight Sat 7th at 7 p.m. on Channel 4
A topper is proper if the train's a non-stopper!
