MALLARD in Bridlington?
Can anybody help me?My wife swears blind that she saw "MALLARD" in Bridlington-possibly in 1988.Could it have been on it's farewell tour? She keeps going on about this, and i would really appreciate some confirmation on this. She thinks it was coming from Scarborough. Please help!

Re: MALLARD in Bridlington?
4468 Mallard did definitely visit Bridlington during its return to service in 1986-88. I remember an account appearing of it climbing Bempton Bank. It probably did a York -Scarborough -Hull (Anlaby)-York circular, perhaps more than one, during this time.

Thanks a lot for that. She keeps on about it,bless her!As she comes from Flamborough, trains were something of a rarity for her-especially ones as special as MALLARD. She's actually offered to come to York with me on sunday to snap TORNADO on the station.I'm sure it has nothing to do with the shops in York!
