Hi all, Still waiting on the track plans but I am hoping to get up to York in a few weeks time.
Does anyone have information on Witton Park Viaduct, number of arches/span per arch/height etc.
I have a couple of pictures and I think there is only 5 arches but can not be sure.

Any help would be great.

best regards

Derek

Thanks for the help, the layouts arrived today and they are just what I wanted. Although I now want more!
A trip to York is on the cards.

Thanks again.

Not sure if anyone is interested here, but here is the Tornado in Railworks, currently sitting on the line into Bishop just above the Gaunless.

(To the OP) if you are looking for track layouts from the 1940's the best source I have found is the local library for the area which normally carries a stock of 25" or even 50" to the mile OS maps of the local area including the stations. For instance, I am working on a Trainz simulation of part of the Malton & Driffield Railway and Malton Library has maps for 1911 right up to the county boundary. These help you to site structures such as signals with an accuracy of about 3 feet.
I have photos of Bishop Auckland Station here http://www.flickr.com/photos/pinzac55/s ... 693962996/
and the weardale line here http://www.flickr.com/photos/pinzac55/s ... 639848109/

Hi Pinza, Yes I have seen your images and they have helped me a great deal!
Thank you very much. I blogged the images awhile back when I was on making my station layout.

While I knew what the building looked like your photos helped me get the details right.

I have a number of images/maps of the area and going on what I can remember while growing up I think I will be able to get it pretty close to how it was in the 50's.

Still working on it, but currently making the North signal box.

Thank you once again, and you can contact me anytime if you are interested in any of it.

regards

Hi Derek I have a lovely shot of the North box and (I think) a reasonably accurate track diagram somewhere. Have you seen the old Bradford Barton book "North Eastern Steam In Northumbria"? It has a couple of BA shots with some nice detail of signals by the late Malcolm Dunnett.

Hi,

Any track diagrams would be very helpful, I have a good idea but always better to know more.
Also, looking to do a full set of signal gantries, so happy to gather the info/advice on exatly what I'll need.

Any help would be great, you also have a PM.

best regards

Have you tried www.alangodfreymaps.co.uk

He had some at what was 25 inch to the mile reduced to about 15 inch to the mile and they show every track
