Post by North Briton »

Can anybody direct me to a source for plans or photographs of NER type signal boxes particularly NES1, NES3 and NES4.

As a real long shot anybody got a photo of Cross Gates signal box?!

Volume 1 of "North Eastern Record", edited by Colin Forster, ISBN 0 902835 13 0 has a generous quantity of photographs and 4mm scale plans.
So - did anyone dare tell Stephenson, "It's not Rocket science"?

Volume 1 is out of print - you need to search places like Abebooks, Ebay, etc.

Volumes 2 & 3 are available from the HMRS and NERA (it is a joint publication). I bought mine from the NERA. I'm not a member, but I'm definitely in favour of supporting them directly!

Bookfinder offers a search by ISBN facility, which - when I tried it - came up with quite a number of second-hand copies for sale: the cheapest being £26.75 here.
