A very basic question from a Southern modeller who wants to (prototypically) run some LNER freight stock. I have just painted a couple of vans with Precision Paints LNER grey but it is much darker than I expected, almost as dark as GWR grey. Is this correct (for mid 30's) or is a lighter grey (as used by Bachmann) more correct?

Dark Grey it would fade with age
