Interesting photos, but the picture of busker Brian Hinton entertaining passengers on the tube in the 50's is to my mind not the tube but a Gresley buffet Car.

Certainly gives the impression, especially the tubular chairs and sliding window vents, but why is the door at the end fitted with a simple bolt?

65447, interesting that bolt, plus there is also a mortice lock below it and not a budget lock as you would expect.
Still it does have LNER style coat hooks, off centre door, LNER style door handle with bars, centre ceiling vent and light fitting
and a table with 2 + 1 side by side seating which as far as I know is very unusual for a tube car.

Could it possibly be in an outer Metropolitan service or in a working on the joint line with the GC?

ISTR that the Metropolitan Railway ran Pullman Cars in its Aylesbury workings until WW2. Could an LNER Buffet have been a substitute?

Of course, thats a very likely scenario, I never connected the two, too far south for me.
I was just thinking the caption was wrong as it was not a tube car.
