Silver Fox: Interesting to see the photo of A4 2511 on the Silver Jubilee. As the 'standby' engine for the service stationed at Gateshead her opportunities on the streamliners were greatly restricted compared with the King's Cross silver trio, though she did make some appearances.

4 Shiney postcards arrived in the post today (from 4 different places!)
First the A4's Commonwealth of Australia (to fit between previous 90 & 92)
Dominion of New Zealand -The Flying Scotsman
Next the others! Flying Scotsman
A random one I just had to have, it is a painting this one! The Caption is;
A Comparison-"Locomotion" No.1, Stockton and Darlington Railway, Built 1825. No. 2402 "City of York" London and North Eastern Railway. Built at darlington in 1922.

the raven pacifics were rather graceful in their own way. Was it a two or three cylinder layout?
don't forget about the Great Eastern Railway

Lovely postcards,thanks for sharing them with us.Next time i'm in York,i'm going to try those collector fairs they seem to have regularly in-is it the church hall,opposite the Cornish pasty company-near where the NRM used to have their shop?My wife once got a cracking set of Flamborough cards from there.Must look harder!
Bring back Ferrybridge station!
