That stores van is a truely gorgeous looking wagon, the blue looks even better now with the lettering added

Hi Rob you have great faith, thanks, I have the GA if it's any help to you when you start to build it,

Nice work on the NER van Dave and nice work repairing/replacing the damaged bits.
I've got the old Farish N gauge version of this van; it's not too bad for a model of 60's/70's vintage but the underframe is totally wrong and requires addressing. I've never seen a picture of this van in LNER livery (and Farish released it in North Eastern livery), can anyone help with this?

A start on weathering the stores van, started on the roof along with the tank filler overflows from years of filling and spilling a bit.
It looks a bit stark at the moment but will tone down. Rusting of the bogies.
The G7 van has progressed a bit further, handles added and other bits, the vac pipes are LMS cast ones, the ones in the kit were
deformed along with the roof doors, I will use some spare David Geen ones.
Some will notice that I've altered the trussing to fit a turnbuckle, this is 2 16ba nuts reamed out to fit over the wire and a bit of insulation from
a network cable. When I first built the van I did not have the GA drawing and assembled the trussing as Dans instructions, a quick snip
in the middle and the nuts added, the insulation joins and holds the joint together.

This is a not terribly good picture of one I built for someone else some years ago. What I noticed were missing from the kit were some plates on the lower bodyside. I hope you can pick them out.
The curved one above the handbrake wheel I think came from Mr. T's W-iron etch. The others were either from there or the Mainly Trains wagon detailing etch. I wasn't as detailed as you with the trussing either.
While I'm on, I forgot to put up the pictures I promised of the Hitchin pway train. Not that there's anything wrong with what you've done with that stores van, but we all like a picture.

Your van does look good and you solved the problem of the curved on-off brake plate, I will use that idea, the brake wheel
should have 2 handles protruding as well, but now they are fixed.............
as far as I can see there is a number plate, wagon label plate and a oval to carry 25tons plate, and depending
which version you are modelling oil boxes for the bogie, or a small box on the solebar, or nothing.
The blue is the sort of thing I'm aiming for but with a bit of dirt.

Here is an old picture of my G7 van, which I made a few years ago. It was scratchbuilt a few years before the later books of Mr Tatlow were published, and before a good article in NERA Express. It is very 'clunky' compared with yours! I would very much like to upgrade it to LNER livery, although since it is vacuum-braked and Westinghouse-piped (apparently the original condition) it would presumably have to be early LNER.
I will follow your build (and livery painting) with interest.
Since these vans survived a long time, it would be interesting to know what traffics they were used for!

The article in NERA is very good, the matchboard version is based on the GA I have, I have not found the
wide board version yet. The livery will be LNER as the photo I posted above.

Good afternoon chaps and chapesses and any non binary etc etc.
It's been a long time since I did any modelling due to sad events at home.
It's been hard getting the motivation going but slowly things are moving.
I notice the last post was back in December which is a lifetime ago and a
different life for me.
One thing I have done is form a workroom, so all my crap is in on place
instead of being in the shed, loft and other places, that the boss did not
mind being cluttered up. The pic is the workbench bit, it's tidier now
as I've been sorting out. There are a few items on it that are being, or going
to be worked on, the Hornby clerestory carriages are to be converted to NER
types, not bad 4 for £5, the stores van has not progressed at all but the NER van
on the left has been painted and lettered, that was before Christmas, I will
get round to finishing it. To get me back in some sort of mood for modelling
I am playing with 2 Hornby NER F10 reefer vans and 3 Hornby H&B reefers.
2 will be 10 vent vans and the one on the mat will be a 6 vent van, off hand
I can't remember which is the insulated type and which is the reefer.
