Lms an lner

Is there anywhere Lms and lner express locos would operate on the same lines. Inverness? Leeds?

Sorry for not typing much but I sprained my thumb. I want to model lner and Lms on the same line.

Yes, Leeds would do it but LMS Pacifics were unheard of until BR days and they were rare then. York was another location where the 2 mixed but, again, no LMS Pacifics.

If LMS Pacifics is what you want, then Carlisle is your answer. Both LMS and LNER Pacifics were shedded there.

Then again the requirement was 'express locos' without a requirement to have pacifics, so a joint LMS/LNER station like Nottingham Victoria would qualify.

There must be a great deal of scope in Scotland where there were shared routes, a location like Perth must have seen considerable variety.

There are many places like Carlisle where LMS and LNER locos would be seen together, but fewer where both would be express locos, if not Pacifics. If we focus on stretches of line there are still fewer. Perhaps the best example is Kinnaber Jnct - Aberdeen? Jubilees in LMS days, presumably, not Pacifics. In BR days things were more mixed, with A3s at Holbeck and A2s at Polmadie, if I remember right, though I'm not sure if the A2s did much.

How about Manchester London Road (now called Manchester Piccadilly).

Plenty of 4-6-0s and smaller locomotives from both companies:
LMS - Scots, Patriots, Black Fives etc. - don't know about pacifics (perhaps running in from Crewe?)
LNER - assorted 4-6-0s, V2s and a few pacifics on running in turns from nearby Gorton works.
