York NER zero post.
I have some questions about the ZERO POST at York Station:- Would there have also been a DATUM POST at the station? The reason I ask about the DP post is I know someone who has one with the 10 bolt holes down the post, but unfortunately no plates. So wondered if it was originally from York Station as well.
Re: York NER zero post.
The NER Zero post at York is a recent replacement. Last 15 years or so.
Part funded by York Area Group NYMR and also by the NERA.
Detail about any provision of a Datum post would be shown on the NER Line diagram.
A copy of which should be in the NERA archive at Darlington.

From the Meccano Magazine, February 1938 (so out of copyright), if it helps...
Re: York NER zero post.
Just had this reply from NERA, which seems to answer my query.
Re: York NER zero post.
There is (or more likely was) a ZERO or DP post opposite the current Platform 4 , adjacent to the site of the former Waterworks signalbox. The area was cleared of the remaining NER buildings a few years ago so it may have disappeared. It always seemed to be anachronistic but I thought it may have marked the DP of Platform 4.
