This site has an option to embed photos, why not videos?
this forum uses a code that does accommodate for video embedding as I frequent another website that uses the exact same base code and allows for embedding Youtube videos: [youtube=youtube URL here]
it also has the option to insert links with text offering a discription: description which displays as: description

You should be able to post links with descriptions. Hover your mouse over the URL button for an example.

I'm fine without embedded videos. And definitely not uploading them (they take up a lot of space).
I see there's a Flash button, that isn't something I've enabled. Flash is troublesome: A lot of devices have trouble, and the Flash plugins are buggy.
